Summer programs

EKO Level Up! Summer Program

Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, at Springfield Community Pool – YMCA

Every summer, the EKO Level Up! Program welcomes 22 students from public schools in the Summit area. These students will be entering 5th, 6th, or 7th grade in September. Over the course of seven weeks, students participate in sessions, Monday through Thursday, for two hours each day, focusing on math and their assigned summer reading. The goal is to help them stay engaged and build confidence before the new school year begins. Our dedicated team includes tutors who are high school graduates or current college students, as well as high school sophomores and juniors serving as tutor assistants. Together, they create a welcoming and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged and inspired to level up both academically and personally. After lunch the students stay for a fun afternoon provided by the YMCA at the swimming pool with swimming lessons once a week.

EKO Summer
Sport Clinics

Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Memorial Park

Enrolled students meet at Memorial Field Park, Summit, NJ, to acquire fundamental soccer or volleyball skills. This program is designed to impart technical expertise and cultivate teamwork abilities, fostering an environment of enjoyment and camaraderie. During seven weeks, the mentors who oversee and guide the participants are high school students who hold positions on their respective school’s soccer and volleyball varsity teams.

EKO Summer booster program

A small group of students entering high school in September meets twice a week for four weeks with a teacher to strengthen their math skills at the library and complete their summer reading in a relaxed, picnic-style setting at the park.
